Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman was delighted with the team’s three points win in their opening match with a 4-2 victory over Real Sociedad in La Liga on Saturday.

Barcelona without Lionel Messi, kicked off the new season with a 4-2 win over Real Sociedad. As Denmark striker Martin Braithwaite scored twice with 1 more assist.

Koeman said after the game: “It’s always important to start a new season with a win. I’m happy with what we showed today. Everyone has a very good game.”

“Eric (Garcia) played great, Memphis (Depay) was a talented player with great touch before becoming an assist. We were brilliant in the first half, both with possession and without possession.” 

In addition, the Dutch coach also said about the fans watching the game in the stadium. “Having the fans back on the pitch is a real joy. We need this very much. They really help a lot.”
